HarvEast launched 5 Variant Irrigation machines in Kiev region
On 19 July 2024, Dmytro Skorniakov, CEO of HarvEast, together with Daniil Shufani, owner of the irrigation equipment manufacturer Variant Agro Bud, solemnly launched 5 irrigation machines in Kyiv region. The new equipment of the Ukrainian brand will provide irrigation for 300 hectares of sunflower seed crops.
In total, HarvEast will now have 800 hectares under irrigation. Today, all the areas of the agricultural holding where irrigation machines are used are located in Kyiv region. However, HarvEast also had more than 1,500 hectares under irrigation in Donetsk region. In February 2022, at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the agricultural producer lost control of these lands, which are currently located in the temporarily occupied territory.
This year, HarvEast chose 5 irrigation machines of the pivot type from its Ukrainian partner Variant Agro Bud to irrigate new seed crops in the Kyiv region. Previously, the company had purchased equipment from foreign manufacturers.
All machines were designed and adapted by the domestic supplier for the specific fields of the farmers. Their installation and launch was completed in the shortest possible time. The agroholding's total investment was over EUR 800 thousand.
Dmytro Skorniakov, CEO of HarvEast: ‘It is not the first year that we have been systematically developing the seed growing business as one of the most strategically important for our company. In the current weather conditions, especially given the unprecedented heat that Ukrainian farmers are suffering from this summer, it is difficult to grow quality seeds in our country without irrigation. That is why our team expands the areas under irrigation every year and plans to develop this project in the coming years. We are grateful to our partner, the supplier of irrigation machines, Variant Agro Bud, for the quality equipment and comfortable conditions of cooperation.’
‘We welcome HarvEast to the group of consumers who support Ukrainian machinery. This is important for us because, despite the relocation of Variant Agro Bud's production facilities to the west of Ukraine and significant damage to Kharkiv's facilities, our company continues to work actively and implement Ukrainian and export projects.
Each such launch is a victory for us. When leading Ukrainian agricultural producers like HarvEast choose domestic machinery, it proves that Ukrainian equipment is not inferior and sometimes even better than imported counterparts,’ said Daniil Shufani, owner of Variant Agro Bud.
